Data Analyst

Position description

This position will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in data collection, processing, and visualization while broadening your understanding of signal analysis, machine learning, and scientific computing. You will also become familiar with handling real radio astronomy data, contributing to the design of processes and tools that transform raw information into valuable insights for scientific and engineering applications.

Useful Skills for the Position

  • Good knowledge of Python (NumPy, Pandas, Astropy, PyTorch, Matplotlib).
  • Familiarity with Git and Docker for version control and deployment.
  • Understanding of signal processing principles.
  • Basic knowledge of radio astronomy and familiarity with real radio astronomy data.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Developing processes for the automated collection, cleaning, and preparation of data.
  • Designing and utilizing appropriate data structures for transformation and processing.
  • Developing generalized and optimized analysis methods.
  • Creating visualizations that facilitate analysis and highlight signal characteristics.
  • Evaluating machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data analysis techniques.
  • Collaborating with the team to address complex challenges and integrate data insights into projects.
